Tempe Butte Stop 2 - Brittle Brush (Encelia farinosa) Brittle
bush is one of the most common shrubs on Tempe Butte and does better
in close proximity to washes. It is more abundant on the south
side. It blooms with beautiful yellow flowers in the spring
after winter rains. This perennial shrub is often used in xeriscaping,
because it needs very little water to survive.
